My Story
I love sport, which is great, but it also comes with the risk of injury. When I broke my ankle last October the medical staff were lovely and reassured me that I would get better. I was one of the lucky ones. I decided that once I was better I'd do something to help the very sick kids I saw in the hospital. Once out of my boot, I went back to swimming. I've always loved swimming and have an amazing and supportive teacher, Carole Walsh. My rehab was going well thanks to the help of my physiotherapist, Sarah Brady (Collins Avenue Physiotherapy). After a few weeks I decided that if I could swim this far, why not swim for charity?
And so the training began.
After many Saturday mornings, with Carole saying "of course you can!" time and time again, I will swim a mile (32 lengths x 50m pool) in March for Children's Health Foundation (Crumlin, Temple St, Tallaght & Connolly)
I want to be someone who makes a difference. Your support would mean a lot. Just a small donation can go a long way.
Sick kids need your help.
Thank you,
Saoirse
