My Story

๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒˆ Baking with Love for Saoirse ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’œ

We are proud to be taking part in the Great Irish Bake in support of Childrenโ€™s Health Ireland: Temple Street, Crumlin, Tallaght, and Connolly hospitals, and the incredible work they do for sick children across Ireland.

Our beautiful daughter, Saoirse (star baker for 2026), lives with Alport syndrome, a rare kidney disease. She is one of the bravest people we know. Three days a week, she attends Temple Street Hospital for haemodialysis, where she receives life-saving care from an amazing team of doctors and nurses.

Despite everything she faces, Saoirse continues to meet each day with courage, kindness, and a smile that lights up every room. She inspires us more than words can say.โœจ

To help raise vital funds, Saoirse and I are hosting a bake sale at Liscannor Community Centre on 28th March from 12โ€“2pm, and we would love for you to join us.

We are baking in her honour and in support of all the children and families who rely on Childrenโ€™s Health Ireland. Every donation, big or small, helps provide vital treatment, comfort, and hope to children who need it most.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this cause and for standing with our Saoirse and so many other brave little fighters. ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒˆโญ

So why don't you throw on your aprons and dust off your cookbooks! It's the 18th Anniversary of Great Irish Bake - Join Donal Skehan and star patient Saoirse this March 2026. Listen out for competitions on the radio and get your story and photos to [email protected] and host a bake sale for sick children.
